Late naturalistic works, 1912-1942 (C1-C155)

In Welsh/Joosten 1998, there is a separate chapter containing 155 late naturalistic works of art that Mondrian made after 1910. The reason for this is that these works are hard to date because Mondrian made them on commission or for the art trade, so they do not reflect the artistic development of his abstract work after 1911.

These works of art appear in the digital oeuvre catalogue with estimated dates found in other sources, including exhibition catalogues and literature. For example [artwork number276189] is dated between 1908 and 1924, because it is listed in various exhibition catalogues around 1909 or around 1922, and in a 1908-24 sale catalogue.
